Extravagant.  Audacious. Carefree.  The red anemone (Anemone coronaria) that grows on the hillsides of Galilee doesn’t seem to have much to boast about. But its humility is exactly the source of its confidence. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us that the flowers of the field are beautiful because they do not worry about taking care of themselves. They trust their heavenly Father to do that.

When we believe we that are responsible for our own existence, when we trust our own ability to care for ourselves, we will have nothing but anxiety and stress. But when we have the humility of the wild flower, when we have the faith to trust that God will care for us, we can dance on the hillsides with wild abandon.
